Paul Charles moves to Virgin Atlantic

PR Week: Congrats to Paul Charles, who is moving from Eurostar to become director of corporate comms at Virgin Atlantic. I’ve had the chance to get to know Paul over the last two years. He’s a consummate PR practitioner, natural communicator, confident and calm, cuts straight to the issues and knows journalism inside out from his time at the BBC.

This will be a great role for him, both on the proactive side launching new routes (PRWEEK mentions a new one to Dubai) and in crisis control around DVT, baggage handling strikes, price hikes, flight cancellations and worse. It’ll be interesting to see how Paul’s team keep the Virgin Atlantic brand fresh with an aging fleet and crew, and dilution from the other Virgin-backed ventures. No doubt the roll-out of the Airbus A380 will be a massive focus.

Virgin Atlantic is a great carrier with a strong reputation for service and innovation – good luck with the new job Paul, and I’ll be tapping you for upgrades…

    Sirs,
Could Paul Charles of Virgin Atlantic please confirm or otherwise plans to launch a new route between the UK and David in Panama?
This is a very important route for ex-pats and others relocating to Panama.
    Thank you
    Michael Boase
